Privacy Policy
haze — last updated 10 July 2026
haze ("we", "us") helps you save and share places you want to remember. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions: support@thehaze.app.
What we collect
- Account: email, username, display name, and anything you add to your profile (bio, avatar).
- Your content: places you save, notes, tags, lists, and your friends/social connections.
- Location: a home-base location you set, and (with your permission) your device location to show places near you. Location is used in-app and is not sold.
- Usage analytics: first-party product analytics (which features are used) to improve the app. You can turn this off in Profile → Settings → Analytics.
How we use it
To run the app: authenticate you, store and sync your places and lists, power friend search and sharing, send notifications you ask for, and improve features. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Who processes it
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
- PostHog — first-party product analytics (self-serve, on our project).
- Google Maps/Places — place search and map data.
- Apple Push Notification service — delivering notifications.
Your choices & rights
- Delete your account any time in Profile → Settings → Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, places, lists, friendships, and uploaded photos.
- Turn off analytics in Profile → Settings → Analytics.
- Access or correct your data, or ask questions, by emailing support@thehaze.app.
Retention
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal data is removed from our systems.
Children
haze is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We'll update this page when our practices change and revise the date above.
